End Date:  January 2011 Type of Work:  Consulting
Ongoing Support:  No

Project Summary:

The City of San Antonio, Aviation Department (Department) is anticipating growth over the next ten years that will place a significant demand on the existing facilities. As a result, the Department is taking a proactive approach to planning for effectively managing this increase before capacity is reached. Due to current market conditions, as well as a strong sense of fiscal responsibility, the Department is investigating methods for maximizing the efficiency of existing facilities prior to making the investment in large scale capital improvement projects.

Barich, Inc. assisted the Department by conducting a Strategic Assessment of potential common use design scenarios for the San Antonio International Airport. This Assessment provided a methodical breakdown of the current facility utilization and developed simulation models for multiple different design scenarios through 2020, based on current flight data and realistic forecasts. This effort was undertaken based on a thorough understanding of the Department's business drivers and long-term vision.

Project Status:

Barich, Inc. completed the Strategic Assessment in January, 2011.
