Project Summary:
The City of San Antonio Aviation Department is in the midst of a multi-year project to modernize the San Antonio International Airport’s (SAT) communications infrastructure in order to meet its current and future technological demands. The “IT Infrastructure Modernization Project” will ultimately bring the communications of the current Terminal A up to the same best practice standards as the newly constructed Terminal B, which was opened on November 9, 2010. In addition, this project will address the needs for some initial outside plant infrastructure improvements.
Based on the successful infrastructure design services for Terminal A performed by Barich, as part of the Airport's IT Infrastructure Modernization Project, Barich, Inc., under a new contract, has been retained to provide the Construction Administration for the project through completion in March of 2013, while leading the same multi-disciplinary team of architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, and telecommunications designers.
Project Status:
The solicitation phase concludes in February 2012 with Barich, Inc. providing a recommendation for the bid award. The Construction Administration effort has begun and is anticipated to continue until March 2013.
